Planning a trip to Italy!

I dont really do new years resolutions but one of my targets this year is to try lots of different things and to try things that normally scare me.
One; Ive never had a blog before so this is something new and kinda frightening!
Two; Ive never travelled alone before, so this will be a first! Ive taken the plunge and booked a trip to Italy for later this year, which im excited about (but yes a little aprehensive shall we say??) lol!
Ive loved travelling as long as I can remember and try to travel to a new place every year. This year Im going to take some mini trips and see snapshots of different countries/cities. So Ive booked flights and accomodation for a mini trip to see the ruins of Pompeii. During last years trip I meet some amazing people, one who had been to Pompeii a few times in a year, which inspired me to go at least once.
Let the planning/packing (is it to early to start planning what to take?) excitement begin!!
